The team has grown

We welcome several new people to the team.

We welcome two postdocs:

🇩🇪 🇳🇱 🇩🇰 Dr. Kerstin Fiege joins us from Germany. She holds a PhD from Technische Universität Kaiserslautern, where she worked on redox sensing in Methanosarcina, and completed postdoctoral work on membrane adaptations in Desulfovibrio–Methanococcus co-culture systems. She will work on the adaptive evolution of dual-species methanogenic cocultures in microbial electrochemical systems.

🇮🇹 🇩🇰 Dr. Francesca Petriglieri from Italy. She completed her PhD and postdoctoral work at Aalborg University, specializing in the ecophysiology of microbial taxa in wastewater treatment systems, including anaerobic digesters. She will be working on adaptive evolution of digester methanogenic communities in microbial electrochemical systems.

We are also welcoming two PhD students:

🇹🇳 🇧🇪 🇩🇰 Jeaidi Aya joins us from Tunisia. She holds an engineering degree in Industrial Biology from the National Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology in Tunis and has two years of experience in bioelectrochemical technologies from the Center for Microbial Ecology and Technology in Ghent. She will be working on digester methanogenic communities in microbial electrochemical systems.

🇻🇳 🇰🇷 🇩🇰 Hà Nguyễn Thị Thu joins us from Vietnam. She holds an MSc in Environmental Science and Engineering from the National Korea Maritime and Ocean University in the Republic of Korea. She will be working on methanogenic consortia in microbial electrochemical systems.

We welcome a research assistant.

Finally, Sarah Sabro Damgaard is joining us as a research assistant. Sarah has been part of the team during both her bachelor’s and MSc studies, and will now support the work of the group in this new role.
